How to cast your phone to a Hisense TV

It depends which Hisense you own, and most guides get this wrong. Hisense sells two different systems. In the US, most models run Google TV and have Chromecast built in — casting works from any Cast-enabled app. In Europe and most other regions, models run VIDAA, which has no Google Cast at all. On VIDAA you use AnyView Cast (Miracast) for screen mirroring, or DLNA to play a specific video, photo or song.
Every Hisense smart TV supports DLNA, whichever system it runs. That is the one method that works on all of them.
First: which Hisense do you have?
Press the Home button on your remote and look at the screen.

If your Hisense runs Google TV (most US models)
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi. Not the 5 GHz band on one and 2.4 GHz on the other — on many routers those behave as separate networks.
- Open an app that supports Cast and tap the cast icon.
- Pick your Hisense from the list.
If you want to send your own files — photos, video, an APK — rather than stream from an app, use the DLNA method below instead. It does not depend on the app you are casting from.
If your Hisense runs VIDAA (most models outside the US)
There is no Google Cast on VIDAA. If you have been tapping a cast icon and seeing nothing, this is why, and no app can add it. You have two working options.
Option A — AnyView Cast, for mirroring your whole screen
- On the TV: Home → Apps → AnyView Cast. Leave it open on the waiting screen.
- On the phone: open Settings and find your manufacturer's mirroring feature — Smart View on Samsung, Screen Cast on Xiaomi, Wireless Projection on Huawei, Cast on stock Android.
- Pick the Hisense and accept the prompt on the TV.

AnyView Cast is Miracast, so it is a direct phone-to-TV link, not a Wi-Fi one. It drops if you walk away, it drains the battery, and streaming apps show a black screen because of copy protection. It is fine for photos and presentations. It is not good for watching a film.
Option B — DLNA, for playing a specific file (works on every Hisense)
This is the method we would use. Instead of mirroring the phone, the TV plays the file directly — so the picture is full quality, the phone can be used for something else, and the battery is not being drained by an encoder.
- Install Send Apps to TV on the phone. Nothing is needed on the TV.
- Open it and let it find the Hisense. It looks for DLNA receivers on your network — every Hisense has one.
- Pick a photo, video or song and send it. The TV plays it.
If it does not work
The TV does not appear in the list
- Check the Wi-Fi bands. Phone on 5 GHz and TV on 2.4 GHz is the most common cause. Put both on the same band.
- Turn off AP isolation / client isolation in your router. It is sometimes on by default on ISP-supplied routers and it blocks devices from seeing each other.
- Guest network. If the phone is on the guest SSID it cannot see the TV. Move it.
- Ethernet TV, Wi-Fi phone is fine, as long as both are on the same router and isolation is off.
It connects, then the picture is black
That is copy protection, not a fault. Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and most banking apps deliberately show black when the screen is being mirrored or recorded. Nothing can bypass it. Use the app's own cast button, or play the file directly with DLNA.
Video stutters or the audio drifts
Mirroring is sensitive to signal quality. Playing the file directly over DLNA avoids the problem entirely, because the TV is decoding rather than receiving a live stream.
It worked yesterday and not today
Restart the TV from the mains, not the remote — pull the plug for thirty seconds. Hisense's network stack tends to need this after a firmware update.
Send anything, not just video
